Faulty Leaders

Throughout history of America, America has always tried to fine the faults in its leaders. Whether it was a president or a Civil Rights Movement leader like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, America has always partaken in ridiculing its leaders for the fact of disagreeing with they are trying to achieve.

Dr. King is prime example of a great leader who wanted to help create equality among all races in the United States, but was ridiculed due to faults that people thought he had.  Dr. King was not only ridiculed verbally but was also beaten and thrown in jail of believing that everybody should not be judged by the color of the skin but by their character.  Through his drive and perseverance DR. King was still able to imprint what he was trying to achieve all along by his famous " I have a dream" speech, which helped jumpstart the change that would soon come.

With all the good that was coming with DR. King's success, it would be that exact same reason that would cause him to lose his life. Although many people saw the good that came through Dr. King, there was still many people that did not agree with what he was trying to achieve, and in the end it would end up causing America to lose one of its great leaders.

No matter how much success a great leader may bring, America will still try to find the faults in what they believe will end up hurting our nation. Although no leader can please everybody, it is up to them to not let others try to influence them to changing their beliefs, just like Dr. King. America is built on leaders making a difference no matter what others think.

Greg Heffley and Ichabod Crane the Anti Heroes

Greg Heffley in the Diary of a wimpy kid series by Jeff Kinney and Ichabod Crane in the Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving both play the role of the anti hero. The anti hero is the central character of the story but lacks the conventional heroic attributes. Both characters are the anti heroes, due to both being inconsiderate of other people's feelings.

Greg Heffley and Ichabod Crane are both inconsiderate of other people's feelings. Greg Heffley in Diary of a wimpy kid is inconsiderate, due to him using his own best friend to try to become more popular in middle school. This would end up backfiring on Greg, by Greg becoming less popular and his best friend claiming the popularity that Greg so highly desired.

Ichabod Crane in the Legend of sleepy hollow displayed his acts of being inconsiderate of other people's feelings, by only wanting to marry Katrina for her father's money and not considering her feelings in looking for a husband. With Ichabod not being considerate of other feelings it would end up coasting him his life, due to him not paying attention to Broom Bones stories until it was too late.

In both stories the reader is able to claim that due to the way that Greg and Ichabod treat others and disregard others feelings, that neither on would achieve their goal of wanting popularity or money.
